The Story of Puredistance YSAYO

For the new Puredistance YSAYO perfumer Antoine Lie closely worked together with L’atelier Français des Matières to use the best possible ingredients. Later more about this.

‘I made a short movie to inspire Antoine about my feel about the world of YSAYO (a word I invented and registered). Key in this movie is a big green Asian pot with water dripping off the outside. Antoine felt inspired by the mysteriously shining green of the pot and created a scent that is unlike any other perfume. He grew up in Alsace in north-eastern France surrounded by greenery. For YSAYO he travelled back to the depths and emotions of his younger years and unleashed his olfactory passion without any inhibitions or intellectual reasoning.

Welcome to the mysterious world of the Green Samurai: an exciting, natural world full of colour and vitality. Earthy Greens and Royal Purple. Raw power layered with Asian and French finesse.’ – Jan Ewoud Vos

For many of his perfumes and also for YSAYO Antoine works together with L’atelier Français des Matières, a company in the South of France that is specialised in sourcing the best possible perfume ingredients in small quantities.

The company is spearheaded by Rémi Pulverail and Jean-Philippe Paris. Rémi is a tireless globetrotter who travels the world in search of the rarest natural extracts. He then buys these ‘Grands Crus’, which exist in secret terroirs and are often only available in very small quantities. Apart from offering the best and rarest ingredients L’atelier Français des Matières also offers the service of an innovative high-tech laboratory.

This unique approach gives Puredistance, through Antoine, access to unique ingredients & extraction methods. And anyone who has ever smelled a `Puredistance perfume knows what this means for the final perfume.

Puredistance YSAYO is a perfume with a concentration of 25% perfume oil and Antoine Lie used the following ingredients:

Top notes: Safron, Galbanum oil Iran, Blue Camomille oil Egypt, White Artemisia oil Morocco.
